It may take some time for the hush to settle down on BURJ KHALIFA, after its grand opening ceromany last month, held 1,325 days after excavation work started and attended by some 6,000 guests. The building's design has posed unprecedented technical and logistical challenges to all future skyscrapers. Much has been written into the finest details that went into this latest man crafted marvel.Be it the tons of concrete(more than 313,700m³), steel rebar(over 68,200 metric tons) or the artwork of 196 bronze and brass alloy cymbals representing the 196 countries of the world adorning the residential lobby of Burj Khalifa, every inch and corner has been covered by the media. But a very less known fact is the presence of Italian fashion house - ARMANI, not as an outlet, but as a hotel occupying 39 floors at the Burj Khalifa. Armani and EMAAR Properties signed an agreement in 2004 for Emaar Hotels to build and operate at least seven luxury hotels and three vacation resorts under the Armani name.
The bottom 39 floors of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai, house the world's first Armani Hotel with 160 guest rooms and suites, and 144 residences. Giorgio Armani is also designing the interiors of the Armani Residences, also within the skyscraper, and its specially designed line of products from the Armani/Casa home furnishings collection.
The Armani Hotel is planned to open in Burj Khalifa on March 18, 2010
